Hey guys! I'm old nao!

Today was my Birthday and it was EPIC, in that way that is totally NOT epic. I celebrated with my family yesterday, in that they made me dinner that included twice baked potatoes a dish that I LOVE but no one ever makes because it takes time to put together and has a lot of calories. Also my mom made me Tiramisu a dessert I fell in love with in Italy, and I got a new book, Snow White and Rose Red by Patricia C. Wrede, who is one of my FAVORITE authors.

So far I'm liking the book, tho its obviously on of her early books. She spends FOREVER talking about people working spells and stringing Latin phrases together instead of GETTING ON WITH THE STORY. Also she writes in Elizabethan English for the dialog in the book, which makes sense since that is the era its set in but at times I find myself brought out of the book while trying to decipher a phrase. She does a good job with dialog normally, she has fun witty dialog, but for some reason when she moves into Elizabethan sarcasm doesn't come off well, and its only when I read the reaction to whatever was said that I realize that it was a joke. The story itself is still her fun quirky style writing, tho not on the same level of sillyness as Dealing With Dragons and Sorcery and Cecilla, but I'm not sure yet if that's a good thing or not. I'll probably write more on this when I finish the book.

As for Updates I am happy to let you know that there ARE NO UPDATES! Ever. The End.

PS that is a joke I'll update later. I've even got a new layout I'm working on now that I've figured out where I got the PNG from. As well as a couple PNG cutouts, and a new... something, I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet, but it looks pretty so I'll be working on it. Also I've been thinking of adding a 'pattern' section, since I do make some patterns sometimes to use, but I don't have that many yet so... we'll see.

New Layout

Well... New layout for the site, decided to change it for my birthday which is on the 23rd... I'll be 21. hooray.

Hey! Remember yesterday when I said I'd have more real updates soon? (no) Well I have some now!

There's a new div layout from Katte Ni Kaizo. I also have two new fractals tho I feel like these aren't as good as some of the others I've been making...

In not website related news I'm super super excited for the Scott Pilgrim movie coming out. I mean I was excited before, but now I'm SUPER excited, I mean before I didn't (for some reason) know that it was being directed by the guy that directed two of my favorite movies, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz! Although I really don't know that many of the actors in the movie (I know that Scott's played by the guy from Juno and what-not and there were a few others where I recognized the names of the movies or shows they were from but I really had never seen the movies, well except Scott's sister is played by a chick from Twilight but I don't really count that as a good mark for her...>.>) Also I'm happy because to coincide with the movie Ubisoft is coming out with a Scott Pilgrim game which will be a side scrolling action game, and if you've ever read the comic you will know that this is perfect.

An-E-way, I'm off to do.... stuff.... probably wright stuff for a story my friend and I are working on... byes

Stupid Spam...

So last night I got about a hundred spam messages through CuteNews so I decided to take off the comments and I'm using a tagboard instead... anyway no new updates right now but I'll probably work on something later today... Anyway I hope everyone is having a good day.

Sad news and some updates

Early this morning our family dog, Chip, died.

We got him while I was in fourth grade, dad wanted to get a dog that was related to the first dog he had ever bought (we are talking Labrador Retrievers for hunting here, not show dogs...) So he ended up having to order Chip from another state and have him flown to us. I remember Mom didn't really want to get a new dog since we already had two (Dart and Ray) so Dad bought Chip in secret and her arrived on a day that mom was spending time with friends away from the house until that evening and then all her friends were coming over for dinner, so dad hid Chip in the barn until after dinner and had me bring him up while all of Mom's friends were there, so she couldn't get angry and although she was annoyed she never did get really angry about Dad going behind her back like that.

Dad was super protective of Chip and would often remind us not to let him out of our sight ever, I remember since my room was the only one that the dogs weren't readily allowed access to Chip would stay with me for the night so someone could keep an eye on him if he needed to be let out, and I would sleep on the floor with him.

One day while I was over at a friends I got a phone call from my mom telling me that I should see if I couldn't stay at my friends house that night because Chip (still very much a puppy) had just been attacked by our dog Dart, and the damage was so bad they had to take him into the animal hospital in Portland. I later found out that what had happened was Dad turned his back on Chip for just a moment when Chip ran around the island in our kitchen and right into Dart's face, in surprise Dart lashed out and bit Chip on the nose, crushing it nearly completely. Against everyone else's better judgement Dad opted to spend the thousands of dollars on surgery to put Chip back together. Chip's nose never grew out properly and he had a huge under bite since and trouble breathing.

Dad has taken Chip hunting in South Dakota every year in October and this year was no exception, he got back last week and Chip, although tired, seemed fine. It wasn't until a few days later that we noticed anything was wrong, but he didn't seem to be getting any better, in fact he was getting more and more lethargic. When Dad finally took him to the vet, Chip was unable to stand on his own, he wasn't eating as much and he had begun vomiting anything in his stomach. Earlier this year he had begun to have heart problems (a common thing for labs) and was already on medicine for that, but he seemed to have caught something in South Dakota, and his already weak heart even the smallest illness was able to create big problems for Chip.

Last night Chip stopped eating altogether and Dad had to force him to take his medicine and chicken broth. This morning dad was out in the kitchen laying next to him, and a few minutes after I saw them together in the kitchen, Dad came into my room to tell me that Chip had passed away. While I'm writing this Dad is currently burying Chip in our back yard.

Chip was the first dog that we owned that I really remember their whole life well. He was also the sweetest dog ever. He always just wanted to be liked by everyone, and loved everyone he ever met. He was a very special dog to all of us and will be dearly missed.

Sorry for that downer of an entry, but it feels better to write it...
